Hi,

it seems that CONNECTION Client (version 10.00.12.08) is not prepared to be used with high DPI monitors and it also ignores Windows settings.

When used on Microsoft Surface Book 2 with 13.5" display and 3000x2000 resolution (I guess it's higher than Apple's Retina ;-), it looks like this (sorry for Czech GUI):

To describe the size, alert dialog upfront respects defined Windows scaling (200%) and texts are small, but readable easily. But login (user name and password) ignores Windows scaling and uses own font size, so texts are around 1 mm big, which is annoying.

I am really surprised, because to support high DPI and to use Windows scaling is "must have" for any software today (especially in computer graphics) and my feeling is that any GUI library supports it automatically. Why not the client?

Hi,

I experienced weird (for me) situation. Alert (question) dialog was displayed when I use CONNECTION Client:

I am sorry it's in Czech, but it's about whether Internet Explorer should remember the password.

Is the client really based on some IE library or the whole engine (which is obsolete, unsage and not liked by Microsoft anymore)? Can it be confirmed / explained by somebody? Or it's just a coincidence and the dialog is not relevant for the client?

Hi,

why CONNECTION client, despite of English version was installed, still uses Czech GUI for login? (the rest is in English)

It's annoying, I use Czech Windows, but I want to use some software in Engish and I really do not expect (it's bug for me) that when I install English version, some parts of software will be in English and other in another language (even if the language is used by OS).

Hi Jeremy. Thank you for the answer, I was not aware of that.

I have another question to the same usage report. I hope it's OK to type it here? Else I will make a new topic...

On the same usage report there is two rows with a usage of exactly 10 mins, which we believe is pretty suspect. It's not 9 minutes, not 11. And we have seen that same picture on three other usage reports from the same customer. We only see the problem at there location. I can upload the three extra usage reports if you would see them too?

Hope you can help with this too.

Why do I keep seeing this notice?  It pops up occasionally, but not every time I start MicroStation...

If I click the More Info link it takes me to a Be Comminities page that no longer exists:

I was downloading Microstation Powerdraft (1200mb) and it was taking quite a while so wasn't sure if it was stuck or something. I backed out and tried redownloading and I keep getting this. It should have taken only less than 2 minutes to download. What did I do wrong?

Our SELECT is due to be renewed at the end o the month but so far we have not had an invoice for the payment, even though we have agreed quite some time ago that we would renew. The SR that was set up for the renewal has been closed. What happens if I have not received an invoice and we therefore can't pay by the due date. I assume that Bentley will not stop the use of our licences.

Also we have recently had an email form Bentley saying the we are due a discount and on checking I am getting conflicting responses from Bentley. One say that this doesn't start until 2019 and another says that we should be eligible. What is the status of this? The email says 'act now' which I have done by asking for more information but this has not really been responded to. 

Any help with this would be appreciated, as Bentley will not be very popular with our Company if you stop our licenses for your error.

I am using STAAD pro connect edition 21.00.02.43. My renewal will expired on next month  and if i not renew the same will it automatically convert it to Node lock version? other wise what will be the procedure?

Product name: MXROAD (SELECTseries 4)

Every time I open MXROAD it ask me for license and after I enter my license the status in License management tool is still Expired. 

I followed all the step in the activation perfectly. No error shown.

Hi guys! Happy New Year to everyone!

Could you please guide me through the Activation Procedure after trial period expires. There are various SELECT Edition Licensing discussions on the Forum. I couldn't find any posts about CONNECT version.

So, what I did:

1. I've downloaded AECOsim Building Designer CONNECT Edition (10.00.00.154). Upgraded to version 4 (10.04.00.69). Bentley Connection Client was installed much earlier.
2. The Product Activation Wizard didn’t start during or after installation. So I launched the AECOsim Building Designer. I got a “Trial version” pop-up window notification.
3. Traditionally, product activation has been through an activation key that an Organization distributed to all of its users. With CONNECT Licensing, product activation is managed by user sign in through the CONNECTION Client, which is installed on each machine that uses Bentley applications.  So I have an Activation Key, but I don't need it, right?
4. CONNECT Licensing FAQ wasn't very helpful
5. I’ve even tried to activate products under CONNECT Licensing, although this procedure to be followed to activate a CONNECT Licensing-enabled product for the first time.
6. I’ve asked for Service Request on https://connect.bentley.com(#7000858681 unresponded for 2 weeks). Could anybody tell me, is this request addressed to Bentley Connect Server administrators or to my Student Program Server administrators?
7. What I see in Bentley Licensing Tool:

 

8. I've tried to activate this application via Bentley Licencing Tool. I received a message to contact an administrator. As Bentley Licensing and Activation Wiki says, only my Organization's administrators can add/remove users via Entitlement Management Configuration. So, I’ve asked them to grant an access to my account to assure further usage of Bentley software.

I received a response from my Program Coordinator: “I have recently changed your permissions in Bentley Student Server. Please, kindly note that they might take a couple of hours until they are available to check.”

So ... We stuck in the same trenches we were in originally.

I would greatly appreciate any help!

Hi I have two licenses and have owned them since 21.12.16, when opening microstation it keeps asking me for my activation key (which I have) and the version number which I don't know - at this stage microstation bombs out every 15 minutes and this a service I paid $10K for. what must I do

I want user to use with email ID only not license key. How to do that ?

We have four licenses of Staad pro. Users are using License key for license. But I want that control with me.

HI there,

I have just upgraded to the latest RAM SS v16. The result is that RAM SS can no longer find the licences and will not activate the modelling and design modules.

My Connection Client is signed in and has a green tick. I installed the updates from the Connection Client.

Any help much appreciated.

The selectserver report for Monthly use by user, gives the amount of time in a single cell, DD.HH:MM (days, a period, hours, a colon, and then minutes).  Getting that one cell converted to a single unit of measure (minutes) has been unexpectedly difficult.  Does anyone have a good way to do this, or know of another report that will show app use by username per month?  I'm using this to determine internal chargebacks.

Hello.

Please, I need a help.

Our hardware administartor canceled user's desktop computer because he has got new laptop. Unfotunately I couldn't check out MS license and now we have this license blocked and I can't check in this MS license to new  laptop. I need somehow to reset our node-lock license mechanism ;-)

What can I do?

Prosím, potřebuji pomoc.

Náš administrátor hardware zrušil uživatelův stolní počítač, protože dostal nový laptop. Bohužel jsem nemohl vrátit MS licenci a nyní máme tuto licenci blokovanou a nemohu přidělit tuto MS licenci na nový laptop. Potřebuji nějak resetovat náš node-lock licenční mechanismus ;-)

Co mám udělat?

I need your help in changing Font and line colour /weight/level in 2000 pages. i need a batch process command file. i will explain my query in detail.
In My project i have 2500 cad dwg files.
1. i need to change the text font,colour,weight,Height, width,line spacing as a standard one in all my 2500 cad file.
2. 58 colour using lines need to be changed to another level,colour,style,weight.
