Hi 

I have bought microstation v8i 5 years ago and have been using the same activation key. 

Recently it started to ask for my to activate the account, I didn't pay much attention and continue using it. 

Until today, it told me its expired and I failed to load into the software. 

while I tried to reactivate the key...

from Select Subscriber with a deployed (local) select server.-- with my activation key....

then told me your product activation is now complete. You may use your product. ......

but there is only one option to the 'close' button. and once I pressed it nothing happened and jump back to desktop as if nothing happened.. 

and if i reopen the Microstation. it ask me to re-activate again. 

what would be the problem here?

When Bentley ends support totally for V8i SS3 what happens to nodelocked perpetual licenses that have to check in with Select Server online once every 365 days?  Will Bentley still support this process?

Dear Support,

We are getting bill for using LumenRT which is a companion software/tool with OpenRoads Designer Connect Edition, which is supposed to be free of cost, and also it is written there that is free with no additional cost when you are installing OpenRoads Designer.

According to Bentley, this is the free entitlement software that works with connect products.

We are using OpenRoads Designer Version 10.00.05.03 with Update 10 of LumenRT, as shown in attached screenshots.

Hello,

We have an old Windows 7 computer with MicroStation v8 2004 (08.05.02.35) installed. This computer is obviously falling to pieces as it's very old but it's a relic from the past that stiil needs to be used everyday by a few employees.

Our solution so far is to virtualize this computer to avoid issues with the hardware breaking down. We did that and I'm having issues with the license because it's linked to the previous computer name (Node). I didn't try to rename the old computer (PT208643) and rename the new Virtual Machine (PT208643-VM) with this name because we can't afford to have the hardware computer not being functionnal. 

So what I'd like to do is get a license file that match the name of the Virtual Machine as to be able to do a bunch of tests on the VM while the hardware computer continues to be used in the meantime. Once we confirm the VM is all good with this old software, we'll scrap the old hardware computer and return to having only 1 license on 1 computer.

I couldn't find any other channel to get help on this...

I'm willing to provide the current license file so Bently can generate a new one but it's very important that the current license file will continue to work for a few weeks during the testing phase.

I have learned how to make Entitlement groups and how to assign users to the group. BUT is there an upgrade coming that will allow us to assign a user to multiple EG's?

example:

I would like to create several EG's via discipline(?) and then assign these EG's to users. For us Microstation would be the base for most users. Not all users need access to specialty products like our Visualization group. Microstation EG+ Viz EG

Our Bridge bureau would have an EG designated for them. Microstation EG + Bridge EG.

Hydraulics licenses would be a seperate EG. Microstation EG + Hydro EG

Will the Entitlement Groups be granulated out sorta like Active Directory allows for multiple groups per user?

Only being able to assign one group to a user does us no good as we have to allow all software that is or will be used to all users when in reality some of the specialty software is used by about only 5% of users. Yes, we could NOT install the software on non authorized users machines and that is how we operate today, but this would allow us to regulate the users instead of any Techs that may install without the main office consent or knowledge of the products cost.

Hi,

This is Surya Teja from Hyderabad, India.

Recently i purchased Staad.Pro license, While installing Staad.Pro it on my system PLANWIN, RCDC, STAAD FOUNDATION also installed.

I thought those are trial versions. But after activating STAAD.PRO with License key, the other products(RCDC, PLANWIN & STAAD FOUNDATION) also activated along with Staad.Pro. I have already

uninstalled those programs but it showing as attached.

 

Are those Chargeable ?? If so how to Deactivate it ??

After upgrading to MicroStation Connect Edition Update 11 with the new CONNECT Licensing i have constant high CPU load.
It consumes more than 30 percent of the CPU power with doing "nothing", or permanently verifying?
Please fix that.

Hi,

Can someone please tell me how to set the SelectServer Online site time zone to UTC / NZ time as I am based in New Zealand but the reports are still using the American Timezone. ie if it 11am where I am (NZ) then the report has 10pm as the run time. What am I missing here?

I have renewed staad pro vide  your order no. 45104133.  I started on 2nd Nov-2018  for using the instruction given in your renewal letter, but i am getting a message that it is trial version for 7 days and for activation i need to give site server name and site activation key. These are not available in your renewal letter.  How do I get these? How do I activate Staadpro.

I'm curious to see if all firms pay full license costs for this CAD Admin groups when it comes to developing\supporting software. Seems to be a significant impost on the firm when we don't use the software for design purposes.

Hello Bentley Systems,

Can you please create a section within this Forum (or elsewhere, if it would be more logical) to post Bentley-hosted SELECTserver Outages/Disrupted Service events? We encountered a disruption on Friday December 7, 2018, which triggered a series of inquiries from our users. We certainly understand that these occurrences are unavoidable at times. It would be great to know if future disruptions are the result of a Bentley Service outage, or if they are due to a localized issue (i.e. internal network, ISP, etc.).

I have a question regarding to one of our customers that have uses Bentley software on a Citrix solution.

The problem is that the Bentley software only is installed only at the Citrix client, but when they received their last bill, they could see that a computer name with absolutely no Bentley software has occured on the list.

We can not see how that could happen...

The data is confidential, so I hope that I can explain the problem further and get help from a Bentley professional.
